Malcolm Jenkins Tweets Message of Thanks to Philly Fans Upon Departure From Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles made the decision to part ways with veteran safety Malcolm Jenkins Tuesday, declining the 2020 team option in his contract.
Jenkins was with the team since 2014 and became a leader both on and off the field in Philadelphia. He's made three Pro Bowls, and was part of the Eagles team that won the Super Bowl to cap the 2017 season. Following the news, the outspoken safety tweeted out a message of thanks to the city in which he enjoyed so much success.
Jenkins ends the message by insisting that Philly is his home, and that he'll be back. The Ohio State product is now a free agent, but the Eagles decided to make a video thanking him before the new league year officially begins.
Both sides appear to be parting ways amicably, and a veteran like Jenkins surely understands the business of the NFL.
Now, his goal should be to make the Eagles look foolish for letting him go.
