Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Tom Brady Jersey From Patriots Hall of Fame
By Jerry Trotta
Anybody else having déja vu from Super Bowl LI in 2017 when Tom Brady's game-worn jersey was embezzled out of the New England Patriots locker room moments after they defeated the Atlanta Falcons?
On Thursday, another TB12 thread, among other team memorabilia, was reportedly taken from the Patriots Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium.
The thief's escape plan, however, wasn't nearly as prolific as his heist. Local authorities apparently picked him off in the parking lot of Patriot Place sporting the stolen jersey underneath his jacket.
The suspect was identified as a 33-year-old man from Providence and he was promptly charged with larceny before being transported to Wrentham District Court for indictment. Initially police reported the jersey was game-worn, but that was later refuted.
At least Brady's jersey will be returned to where it belongs within a matter of hours this time around. Of course, 2017's jersey-gate took months of investigating before it was finally tracked down with the assistance of the FBI.
We'd like to tell you that this is the last time we'll be conveying the news that one of the GOAT's jerseys was seized, but we thought much of the same back in 2017.
Until next time, folks.
