Manny Machado Takes the High Road and Doesn't Comment on Bizarre Social Media Feud With Umpires
By Michael Luciano

In a bizarre turn of events, San Diego Padres superstar Manny Machado took the humble path for once.
Rather than continue his ongoing feud with umpires following an ejection spurred on by a complete meltdown on his part, Machado didn't engage in any more back and forth, simply stating he's focused on the appeal of his case.
Machado did not comment on the posts. He said:

"Honestly, I'm just waiting for my hearing to plead my case, and that's all we're going to worry about. I know I've got MLB and the Padres and ownership behind me on this. We're all on the same page and going to move forward."
This comes after the MLB Umpires Union Twitter account attacked Machado with a tweet laden with ridiculous hashtags that called Machado's character unto question, listing him as a repeat offender and berating the one-game suspension handed down by the MLB as "nonsense".

Machado may not have behaved in the most even-keeled way, but the way the MLBUA handled this incident somehow made them look like a bunch of equally immature, petty professionals who were out to defame the Padres star.

While Old Manny might have continued needling the umpires, New Manny washed his hands of the whole affair. That newfound maturity has to be good to see for Padres fans.
