This Map of Every State's Favorite NFL Team Just Has to Be Spectacularly Wrong

The NFL's release of the official 2020 regular season schedules on Thursday night has football fans living on cloud nine. The optimism is high, and so is the trash talk on social media. So you think occupants of each state are flying the flags of their local teams, right?

Well, the 'Today in Sports' Twitter account created a map that calculated the favorite teams of all 50 states based on hashtag usage, and the results are an laughably wrong.

We're not going to sugar coat it, this map is an abomination.

How are the Buffalo Bills the favorite NFL team of Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Colorado, and Utah? We get it, the Bills are on the rise, but we didn't think Bills Mafia took up residence all the way in the mountain timezone!

Our next problem pertains to the Philadelphia Eagles. They've taken over the state of New Jersey, which is understandable, considering the recent struggles of the New York Giants and Jets. But how did the Eagles overtake the state of Georgia? We know the Atlanta Falcons are destined to finish last in the NFC South this upcoming season, but of all teams, you pick the Eagles? That's just odd.

Perhaps the funniest thing about this map is the lack of the Dallas Cowboys. For an organization and fanbase to obnoxiously dub themselves "America's Team," they don't occupy a single state in the country. We can't even spot you guys! Come on, we thought you were Dem Boyz?

We respect the effort put into this study, but that doesn't mean we'll take it as gospel. Sorry, but we're just not buying stock in it.
