Maple Leafs Reportedly 'Checked in' on PK Subban Trade
By Mark Powell

Turns out TSN's trade bait board might not be that far off after all.
Nashville Predators defenseman PK Subban has been the subject of trade rumors all offseason, with some suggesting a return to Montreal is probable. As it turns out, another Canadian team has reportedly checked in on the former All-Star.
Could Subban be shipped to Toronto? With the NHL Draft looming, it remains a possibility.

Toronto is shopping many of their own young stars, including Nazem Kadri, and even the veteran Patrick Marleau. However, the addition of a defensive force like Subban would do wonders for a team trying desperately to get over that hump.
The Leafs cap situation is a difficult problem for them, however, as they sit very close to the tax with a Mitch Marner deal still on the table. It's unlikely Toronto is willing to forfeit a potential Marner long-term contract just to trade for Subban, even if they need defensive help.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have looked into the possibility of making a trade for PK Subban, dependant on the Mitch Marner situation, per sources of Elliotte Friedman.

The Vancouver Canucks have also had talks in regards to Subban, but Tyson Barrie is their first choice. pic.twitter.com/EFRCHaYKGX
With the NHL Draft set for Friday night, expect plenty of GMs to make some calls regarding the 30-year-old defenseman.
