VIDEO: Boston Celtics Guard Marcus Smart Reveals He Tested Positive for Coronavirus
By Mark Powell
As more NBA players are tested for COVID-19, the number of positive cases is also increasing. After two players on the Los Angeles Lakers tested positive, a member of the rival Celtics, Marcus Smart, revealed he has coronavirus as well in a video message to fans and the NBA community.
You have to admire Smart for being so upfront about this matter. While we can respect some NBA players for wanting privacy after receiving such surprising medial news, Smart has opted to go public with his news. In doing so, we can only hope he can inspire our community to remain indoors and practice social distancing as much as possible to prevent the spread of the virus.
Rudy Gobert was the first NBA player to test positive last week, and since the Association has shut down operations altogether, setting an example the rest of the sports world would soon follow.
We wish Smart the best, and are hoping for a speedy recovery.
