Marcus Stroman Chimes in on David Price-Dennis Eckersley Drama With Twitter Likes
By Scott Rogust
The talk in the greater Boston area has nothing to do with what the Red Sox are doing on the field. No, everyone is discussing the ongoing, two-year feud between Red Sox ace David Price and current analyst Dennis Eckersley.
With Eckersley stressing that he will never speak to Price during an interview with the Boston Globe on Tuesday, Price rebutted by calling his comments "trash," while stressing he should meet with him or stop talking about him altogether. Now, there's another figure to chime in on the feud.
Another target of Eckersley's vitriol was Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman, whom liked tweets of Price deriding the ex-pitcher.
During a June 23 matchup between the Blue Jays and Red Sox, Stroman screamed and stared down the Boston dugout following a sixth inning strikeout of Eduardo Nunez. Stroman's actions caught the ire of Eckersley, who called his celebrations "tired."
Stroman struck back after the game, tweeting that Eckersley's comments "are always trash." Stroman didn't end things there, as he found a video of Eckersley's excessive celebrations during his playing days, with the Blue Jays ace calling him a "clown" and "hypocrite."
With the David Price-Dennis Eckersley drama continuing after two-plus years, you can officially put Marcus Stroman on Team Price.
