Marcus Stroman Propels Trade Rumors With Latest Twitter Activity
By Brendan Azoff
Marcus Stroman is undoubtedly one of the most tantalizing pitchers on the market this July, and it seems likely that he will be on the move. From his passion and confidence, to his outstanding ability to keep balls on the ground (57.5% ground ball rate), Stroman will be a high-priority target ahead of the trade deadline.
With rumors swirling around where Stroman will end up, the pitcher himself has caused a stir on Twitter, where his cryptic tweets and likes have raised eyebrows throughout the MLB community.
So apparently Stroman believes it's time for him to depart from Toronto. And if his own tweet was not enough for you to believe that he wants out of Canada, then maybe some of the other activity on his account will.
Stroman has created even more of an intrigue around his Toronto departure, and with teams such as the Yankees, Twins, and Astros all in the mix to land the All-Star, things may get interesting in the next couple of weeks. It would surprise absolutely no one, at this point, if Stroman is donning a new uniform by the month's end.
On the season, the Jays hurler has tossed 104.2 innings, striking out 81 batters and recording a 3.18 ERA en route to his first All-Star appearance. Any team would be lucky to get their hands on the 28-year-old, and it'll come down to who can impress Toronto the most with their offer.
