Marcus Stroman's Postgame Comments After Facing Yankees Sunday Prove He's Ready for the Bronx
By Adam Weinrib

Some people simply don't work well with the burden of making Yankee Stadium their home mound.
Just ask NL All-Star Sonny Gray. Good pitcher, affable guy, just wasn't going to happen here.
Marcus Stroman, though? He very well may be the exact opposite. After pitching well against a boffo Yankees lineup on Sunday afternoon at the Stadium, the very-self-aware Stro Show made it clear that, if the trade rumors that have leaked into his periphery come to fruition, he'd be very ready to strut his stuff in a special second half.

“I feel great. I don’t have to prove myself. I have 800 innings in the AL East. I know I can compete with anybody out there and I would give myself the ball in any big-time situation.”#Yankees
The Long Island native knows his own skills, and so do the rest of us; he gets ground balls, would function well in front of an elite infield, and rises to the moment.

"I truly believe that I always get stronger as the year goes on. I’ve always been a second-half pitcher. I think I’m going to have a pretty special second half.”#Yankees
Plus, there's the added benefit that a trade to a contender would get Stroman to a team that should provide him the offense he deserves.
Marcus Stroman (5-10) has received two runs or fewer of support in 14 of his 19 starts this season.

Stroman also has Ls in five quality starts, most in the majors this season.
A 5-10 record simply isn't fair for the diminutive ace. Perhaps a relocation will help balance the scales and bring about the type of special second half Stroman is envisioning.
