Mariners Reportedly Trade OF Ian Miller to the Twins

Who said August trades were dead?
Many thought that the new, one "hard" trade deadline in MLB on July 31 would result in the end of trades for the rest of the season. However, teams are still able to make trades involving minor league players who have not been promoted to the major leagues this season.
That's how the Minnesota Twins were able to acquire outfielder Ian Miller from the Seattle Mariners on Saturday morning. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports the Mariners will most likely acquire cash in the transaction.
The powerful Twins won't rely upon Miller to play a huge role in their lineup, as the former 14th-round pick is known more for his speed than his bat. He's stolen 237 bases in seven professional seasons.
With Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler, Byron Buxton and Marwin Gonzalez getting the majority of the playing time in Minnesota's outfield, Miller will likely be a September call-up and utilized as a pinch runner or late game defensive replacement.
No surprise here, but Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto was busy making trades heading into the weekend, as he aslo dealt catcher Jose Lobaton to the Dodgers on Friday.
