The Mariners enter this game coming off a 5-2 loss against the Cardinals in the second game of the series. Seattle will deploy a bullpen game for this one, with Tommy Milone (1-2) slated to work as the primary pitcher behind the opener. Milone has had a solid season so far, posting a 2.95 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP in 42.2 innings of work.

The Mariners offense has done well over their past 30 games, averaging 5.3 runs per game despite not having an incredibly potent lineup.
J.P. Crawford will be one to watch for in this one, as he has a .311 batting average with 13 runs batted in through his last 61 at-bats.

On the side for the Cards, they enter this game having dropped six of their last 10 games, and have scored a rough 3.3 runs per game in that stretch.
The Cardinals are clearly missing Marcell Ozuna, who was their best hitter prior to going on the injured list with multiple small fractures in his hand. He was hitting .259 with 20 homers and 62 runs batted in.

Pitcher Michael Wacha (5-4) will take the mound in this one, as he looks to continue to enjoy the success he's had since returning to the rotation on June 10. Since then, he's lowered his ERA by a full run, and has had three quality starts in four outings. He currently has a 5.30 ERA with a 62:37 K:BB ratio in 73 innings.
