Martellus Bennett last played in the NFL back in 2017 with the New England Patriots. The tight end made one Pro Bowl in his career, and also won a Super Bowl LI with the Pats in his penultimate pro season.

He is still only 33 years old, however, and could have searched for another job in the league if he was single-minded about getting back into the game. Instead, he retired to focus on his creative endeavors, which include writing children's books and producing films. Right on cue, Bennett has now signed a new contract -- but it's not with any NFL team.

It's with Mickey Mouse.

The former tight end is fully embracing his new career and is now part of the Disney family. He published a book called "Hey A.J., It's Saturday!" in 2016, and is now creating an animated series based on the story. That is awesome stuff, and another example of an NFL player with bigger goals than simply achieving greatness on the field.

Retiring from football in his early 30s meant Bennett could have sat around and just relaxed for a while. But he is using his creative mind for good and could become a new powerful voice in children's programming at such a young age. His second act has every chance to be even more exciting than the first.
