Former Braves All-Star Infielder Martin Prado Announces Retirement From Baseball
By Jerry Trotta

On Wednesday, one of the MLB's most grossly underrated players of the last decade-plus decided to call it a career.
At 36 years old, former Atlanta Braves All-Star infielder Martin Prado announced his retirement from baseball after 14 seasons, according to league insider Jon Heyman.
Martin Prado has retired, as it was believed he would. Nice career, terrific leader. And good timing. Finishes with exactly 100 HR and OPS plus of 103. #braves #dbacks #yankees #marlins

Heyman's been on top of covering Prado's future since the conclusion of the 2019 season, reporting as recently as November that the Venezuelan was giving serious thought to retiring.
Prado, who spent the last five seasons with the Miami Marlins, was never a flashy player, but his unique skillset was appreciated around baseball. He hit over .300 six times across his 14 seasons while playing excellent defense across the diamond, and even in left field in the latter stages of his career.
The 36-year-old logged an even 100 home runs, 1,542 hits, 609 RBI, 664 runs, and a stellar 103 OPS+ across his big league career.
#MLB

Pratt, as his teammates loved to call him, finished his career with a respectable slash line of .287/.335/.412.
We wish him nothing but the best in his post-baseball life.
