Marvin Williams Planning to Sign With Bucks After Buyout From Hornets

The NBA trade deadline has passed and that means buyout season is upon us.
Players are being bought out of their contracts and a new sort of free agency is underway this week. Marvin Williams is the latest buyout candidate, working his way out of his deal with the Charlotte Hornets.
Once a free man, Williams plans to immediately latch on with a contender and get right to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Per Shams Charania, Williams is expected to join the Milwaukee Bucks once his buyout is finalized.

This is a nice addition for a Bucks team that owns the best record in the NBA. Williams is only averaging around seven points per game this year, but that has come in a reduced role on a lowly Hornets team. Joining a competitive Bucks squad should jumpstart the veteran's year after six seasons in Charlotte.
Marvin Williams plays reliable defense, hits 39% of his spot-up 3s, and is a great veteran to have in the locker room. He's gonna be an excellent addition for a contender. https://t.co/zsDcmndbrV

Williams is coming in as added veteran talent and is not expected to carry the team in any way, but will provide experience off the bench, and has featured in the playoffs in six separate seasons.
Hornets fans likely saw this coming, but it's never fun to say goodbye to a long-tenured veteran of the team.
