If any NBA team with a general manager vacancy was planning on trying to swoop in and convince Masai Ujiri to leave the Toronto Raptors, they'll be disappointed with this latest news.

The architect of the 2019 NBA champs has reportedly confirmed that he is committed to Toronto until the end of his contract, which goes through 2020-21, at the very least.

With Kawhi Leonard having left the Raptors after one season, many NBA insiders assumed that Ujiri might at least take a peek at some of the other potential NBA GM openings. They were all wrong, despite a spirited overture from the Wizards that reportedly included an ownership stake.

Here and now, Ujiri is all-in on the Raptors, even if the team isn't a title contender anymore given the loss of Leonard in free agency. The exec has professed his commitment to honoring his contract. That's about as much as anyone could ask of him at this point given his skyrocketing reputation around the league.

It also helps that Ujiri is still bullish about the Raptors' chances of being a giant-killer once again. While Nick Nurse and Co. will undoubtedly have a much tougher time this year around, they can compete knowing that they have the full backing of their GM.
