Competition is brewing in Green Bay, but that's expected for any NFL team in the offseason, a glorious time where hundreds of guys try to squeeze their way onto the 53-man roster.

Of course, the Green Bay Packers haven't had too much competition in this specific area lately.

Mason Crosby's got someone breathing down his neck in the form of Sam Ficken, and he's raised his game in response.

By signing Ficken after the 2018 season, the Packers have given 12-year veteran Mason Crosby someone to truly compete against for the first time since 2013.

According to reports from camp, both kickers made all five of their field goal kicks from 33 to 50 yards on Tuesday, proving that Crosby may have to get himself ready for an offseason battle.

Now, Ficken has nowhere near the experience or success that Crosby has had in his career. He only played in two games during the 2018 season, where he was 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts, but perfect on 10 extra point kicks.

Crosby, on the other hand, boasts 12 years of consistency for the Packers. During this time, he has piled up an 80.4% field goal percentage, and has only missed a total of 11 extra-point kicks.

Ficken will need to continue his recent success and show his potential to truly compete to take Crosby's starting spot, but at the very least, the heat is on.
