Mason Rudolph's $50k Fine for Steelers-Browns Fight Reportedly Upheld
By Jerry Trotta
As if being bludgeoned in the dome with his own helmet by Myles Garrett wasn't enough, Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph did not escape the Week 11 melee between Pittsburgh and Cleveland without further punishment.
The NFL fined Rudolph $50,000 for his involvement in the brawl, and the 24-year-old promptly appealed the penalty.
Well, flash forward a few months later and the league has reportedly come to a settlement regarding Rudolph's petition. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Oklahoma State product's fine has been upheld.
Garafolo notes that the deliberation took as long as it did because of the numerous appeals that the league had to sort out across the last few months.
Despite being an obvious victim of the fracas, it appeared Rudolph was an instigator, too, erupting in sheer rage after a late hit in the closing stages of the game.
Footage proved that Rudolph attempted to remove Garrett's helmet before, as previously stated, things escalated into a much more unappetizing altercation between the two players.
The NFL's decision to uphold Rudolph's fine comes on the same day that their reinstatement of Garrett was made official.
That concept probably won't sit well with fans in the Steel City.
