Matt Boyd Likely to Stay With Tigers Following Trade Deadline
By Charles Nason

Detroit Tigers southpaw Matt Boyd has been hotly discussed over the past few weeks as a possible starter on the move. With the MLB trade deadline rapidly approaching, it's starting to look like Boyd will being staying put.
The Tigers have reportedly not received an offer enticing enough for them to move Boyd, meaning he'll stay with his struggling club for the remainder of the year.
Starter Matthew Boyd is likely to stay put now. No team has made an enticing offer to the #Tigers to persuade them to move him.

Boyd has been one of the silver linings of the Tigers' brutally disappointing year. He is under control of Detroit for the next three seasons at a relatively cheap price.
Due to that, the Tigers have been able to leverage Boyd's performance this year to ask for more in return from potential buyers. Owning a 3.94 ERA and an incredible 12.1 K/9, Boyd was considered one of the best pitchers on the market.
Something I find interesting is that two of the guys who might be available this week — Trevor Bauer and Matt Boyd — are Driveline guys who can now be traded for *big* returns. Their clubs can directly benefit from work they put in independently and outside the organization.

The Tigers will still be open to listening to offers for the southpaw, as well as other veterans on the roster, but after the Marcus Stroman deal, it'd be surprising if they received an offer that was to their liking.
Unless teams are willing to up the ante, it's looking more likely that Boyd will stay in the Motor City.
