Chicago Bears fans can breathe a big sigh of relief. After being declared "out indefinitely" following sports hernia surgery in May, it appears as though Trey Burton will be back in time to knock off the rust before the upcoming season.
According to Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Bears head coach Matt Nagy believes Trey Burton will be ready to go by the start of training camp.

This is great news for the Bears. Burton was a great pass-catcher in his first season with the team in 2018, hauling in 54 catches for 569 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Burton is an underrated key to Chicago's offense: in addition to acting as a security blanket for Mitchell Trubisky in the passing game, he was also graded as Pro Football Focus' top run-blocking tight end in the NFL in 2018.

Tight ends who have significant value in both the run and pass games are a rare commodity in today's NFL, and the Bears will be very grateful to have Burton back in their offense. After a strange ending to last season for the former Eagle, it should be nice to have a fresh start in August.
The Bears should be a contender in the NFC this season, and Trey Burton's impact on their offense should not be underestimated as a key to their success.
