Matt Patricia Reveals Lions RB Kerryon Johnson is Headed to IR After Undergoing Surgery
By Parker White
The Detroit Lions have been as competitive as anyone in the NFC, but the results haven't gone their way. Now, it'll be even tougher for them to compete in the NFC North moving forward after head coach Matt Patricia revealed that starting running back Kerryon Johnson is headed to injured reserve after undergoing a knee procedure.
If Johnson is able to return, it'll have to be after eight weeks have passed.
Patricia and the Lions are hopeful Johnson can return toward the end of the season, but we'll have to see if Detroit is in contention for him to come back and make an impact.
Johnson left last week's game with a knee injury, and unfortunately missed the final six games of last season with an injured left knee. This offense is a lot to handle when Johnson is healthy, so hopefully Ty Johnson and others are ready to step up in his place.
