Max Scherzer Pitching With a Black Eye and Broken Nose is Truly a Sight to See
By Brian Cass

Standing at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer is already an intimidating guy as it is. Add a black eye and broken nose into the mix, and now Scherzer looks like a complete bad ass out there on the mound.
Scherzer broke his nose when he took a ball off the face during batting practice on Tuesday. But, with concussion symptoms detected by the medical staff, Scherzer insisted on playing in Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Now that's something to see. Baseball isn't particularly known as being a tough guy sport, but don't tell that to Scherzer. As long as there's nothing wrong with that right arm of his, he's going out there to pitch for his ball club.

This is the type of stuff we as fans love to see; a player gut it out through an injury and put it all on the line for his team. Hopefully, Scherzer's bruised up eye won't hinder his play. It would be great to see this guy on the mound late into the game for the Nats on Wednesday night.
