Max Scherzer's Face Looks Gnarly and Busted Ahead of Wednesday Night's Start
By Ryan Flores

Max Scherzer is probably the toughest pitcher in baseball.
On Tuesday, the Washington Nationals pitcher was taking batting practice, and wound up taking a baseball to the face. It was a scary sight for the team, and it was later revealed that he had suffered a broken nose.

Scherzer was apparently completely unfazed by this, and was very adamant about wanting to pitch on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. And Mad Mex gets what he wants, so despite the gnarly look he's sporting as a result of the injury, he'll be taking the hill.

It's already difficult having to face Scherzer on the mound, but now the Phillies will have to look at that wicked look on his face all night long.
Scherzer's been lights out all month long, compiling a 1.23 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 34:3 K:BB in 22 innings, further adding to the intimidation factor that Scherzer has going for him heading into Wednesday night's matchup.
