VIDEO: Media Narrative That Ben Roethlisberger Quit on Steelers is Downright Ridiculous
By Scott Rogust

Entering the new league year, the Pittsburgh Steelers are banking on longtime quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to make a return in 2020. In the second game of this season, Roethlisberger suffered a serious elbow injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Yet, former NFL linebacker and current analyst for NFL Network Thomas Davis is spreading the narrative that Roethlisberger "quit" on the team as the 2019 campaign winded down.
Ben Roethlisberger had season ending elbow surgery last september. He still hasn't been cleared to throw a football. But @ThomasDavisSDTM thinks Big Ben quit on the Steelers in 2019 and he really could have come back. This is whack pic.twitter.com/wcEB8DgVar

How did this thought come to his mind?
To add context for Davis, who clearly needs it, an MLB player can be sidelined for a full year if they injure the aforementioned elbow ligament. It's not something that can be healed in the span of a few weeks.
What a joke of a take by Thomas Davis on Ben Roethlisberger. He really questioned Ben’s hunger and desire to come back for the playoff push after having major elbow surgery. ?♂️ #Steelers https://t.co/g1wFI7mB7o

Additionally, Big Ben hasn't been cleared to throw a football yet, and his status for the start of the 2020 season is still up in the air.
But yes, Roethlisberger definitely quit on the team when things got tough. Give us a break.
