Jalen Hurts is one of the NFL Draft's most intriguing prospects, having drawn comparisons to versatile and position-less players of the past and present, like Taysom Hill. Despite some question as to what position Hurts would excel in naturally at the pros, the former Alabama and Oklahoma star has not shied away from his desire to stay at QB.

During an ESPN NFL Draft media conference call, draft analyst Mel Kiper provided some insight on the 21-year-old, offering his thoughts on where Hurts will be selected, as well as his future role in the pros.

Kiper stated that he sees Hurts as a potential late second-round pick, or possible mid-to-late third-round pick in April, citing his strong showings at the NFL Combine, as well as at two of the country's most decorated college football programs. And yes, Kiper does believe he possesses the skill to contribute in Taysom Hill-like packages.

Last year as a member of Lincoln Riley's Sooners, Hurts completed 69.7% of his pass attempts for 3,851 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also picked up an additional 1,223 yards on the ground, scoring 20 touchdowns on the year.

It was a bounce-back 2019 season for the transfer star, who managed to showcase his skills as a passer after throwing just 51 pass attempts in his junior season at Alabama.

It seems he's managed to do enough of late to catch Kiper's eye, and the draft analyst figures he'll be off the board by the conclusion of the third round, while carving out a role for himself as a versatile offensive weapon.
