By Michael Luciano

The Baltimore Orioles made some major waves with their latest addition to their broadcasting team after picking up one of the industry's rising stars.
Melanie Newman, who has over 10 years of experience calling baseball games at several different levels of the sport, announced she will join MASN and serve as an analyst for Orioles games on TV and on the radio.

Nothing short of an A+ hire.
Newman, who has been making waves for the last decade with a variety of networks, including ESPN's ACC Network, was a part of baseball's first all-female broadcast booth in 2019 with the Salem Red Sox, a Class A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. She also has experience with the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders.
Newman will join a talented broadcast team in Baltimore, as the always exceptional Gary Thorne and Hall of Famer Jim Palmer will be back in the booth next season.
The Orioles are shaking up their broadcast team for the 2020 season, adding Geoff Arnold, Melanie Newman and Scott Garceau as new voices.

Also notable: Jim Palmer will be returning to the booth. Jim Hunter will not. https://t.co/4kdehEeKPq
Even if the O's won't be that watchable on the field this season, hearing the voices of Newman, Thorne and Palmer on TV should provide some unrivaled quality.
