Mets Ace Noah Syndergaard Trolls SNY Over 2019 Trade Rumors
By Adam Weinrib
Thor's got a new and prominent enemy, and it is NOT Mr. Met.
No, Mets ace Noah Syndergaard has focused his vitriol once again on an old foe, dredging up an earlier battle just in time for the New Year. We're sure Syndergaard has plenty of resolutions for bettering himself in 2020, but he's not going to let bygones be bygones just yet, taking one final parting shot at SNY, the Mets' very own station, for seemingly driving the bus on Thor trade rumors prior to (and during) last season.
Syndergaard didn't go anywhere before 2019, nor did he depart Flushing at the deadline, despite 10,000 rumors, all pushed fairly extensively on SNY.
Gary Sanchez, JT Realmuto, and Syndergaard was a popular triumvirate that never materialized last offseason. AJ Preller and the Padres were widely rumored to come calling, especially when the team was tanking to its highest level last July.
Then, the rest is history -- the Mets added with Marcus Stroman instead of subtracting, the team went on a run, the Wilpons might be out, and things are looking rosier than ever for Syndergaard in Flushing.
But he hasn't forgotten who tried to pack his bags for him last year when times were tough.
