Dellin Betances has long been one of the league's most dominant relief pitchers. In 2019, however, injuries kept the hard-throwing right-hander off the hill for all but 0.2 innings of work.

Unfortunately for Betances, he was unable to stay healthy ahead of his contract year, which has certainly affected his demand. According to Jack Curry of the YES Network, Betances is looking to regain some of his past value by seeking a one-year prove-it deal in 2020.

Per Curry, the Yankees have already engaged in discussions with their flame-throwing reliever, but they don't stand alone. The Mets and Rays could be potential suitors for Betances as well.

Betances was reportedly the only active player in attendance at Beltran's congratulatory dinner after the latter was announced as manager of the Mets, so that could help the team's chances.

The Phillies are also rumored to be interested in Betances' services, as he could instantly step in as one of their best options out of the bullpen.

While the market for Betances continues to become more clear, it's apparent that he's banking on himself in 2020 in order to secure the bag the following offseason.

Betances has spent his entire eight-year career in the Bronx, recording a sterling 2.36 ERA with a 14.6 K/9. The four-time All-Star is entering his age-32 season and is looking to impress enough to secure a sizable contract the following offseason.
