Mets Announced Jason Vargas' Return From IL and Got Torched in the Replies
By Sean Facey

The New York Mets announced via Twitter that starter Jason Vargas has returned from the injured list. If only that's the the story ended for the team from Queens...
The fans are decidedly unhappy, and in typical Mets fashion, they're getting absolutely roasted in the replies.

Watching Vargas pitch is honestly a fate worse than death, especially for the Mets this season. Has anything gone right for this team?

They might as well pack their bags now and close up shop for the year, because he's practically a guaranteed loss every fifth day.

Maybe if he could crank his heater a little bit higher than what batters face in Double-A, he'd stand a chance.

It truly is disgusting that the Mets willingly brought back a starter who has given them a 6.32 ERA during his time with the team.

Seriously, what's the reasoning here?

When the rantings of Stephen A. Smith are being invoked, that's a clear sign something has gone horribly wrong.
Even for an organization that makes as many blunders as the Mets, this move has fans at a loss for words. Unreal.
