Mets Are Good Now But They're Still Screwing Over Jacob deGrom
By Charles Nason

Over the past three weeks, the New York Mets have been one of the most electrifying and exciting teams to watch across the entire MLB. With 16 wins in their last 18 games, the Mets have boosted their chances in both the NL East and NL Wild Card standings.
However, despite their recent surge, the Mets can't seem to find a way to help out star righty Jacob deGrom. With an ERA of 2.68, deGrom has been solid for the Mets yet again. Yet, New York hasn't given deGrom much run support, as his record sits at just 7-7.
This win streak from the Mets is exciting, but just a quick note:

Noah Syndergaard had 11 Ks and surrendered 0 ER. Jacob deGrom had 11 Ks and gave up 1 ER. Both had no decisions. The bats need to wake up because tough rotations are coming up like the one the Nationals have.
Through his 10 no decisions on the year, deGrom has an ERA of 1.55. Despite his team's multiple winning streaks over the past several weeks, deGrom is still getting little offensive help during his starts.
As impressive as the Mets' performances have been lately, they somehow can't help some of their more dominant starters.
Jacob deGrom, since May 1 (17 starts):

110 IP IP, 87 H, 28 ER, 24 BB, 131 K, holding opponents to a .584 OPS during that span.
He is 4-4 with a 2.29 ERA and 9 no-decisions during that span. 9 no decisions seems impossible given those numbers.
But, alas… #Mets
With the way he's pitched this year, you'd expect deGrom's overall record to be much better than a simple .500.
In typical Mets fashion, there's still a hint of demise in their impressive winning streak. Surely deGrom will thrive in the Mets' team success over his own personal accomplishments, but providing him an opportunity to get back in the win column could go a long way.
