Mets Reportedly Interested in Free Agent and Former Yankee Dellin Betances
By Chris Pyo

Dellin Betances may not have to travel too far to find his free agent destination. In fact, the 7 train should do.
The Mets struggled mightily in the later innings, especially when closer Edwin Diaz was on the mound, who blew seven saves over the course of the season. Betances would be an easy fix to some of those problems.
Early on will depend on asking price coming off injuries, but Mets looking at Dellin Betances as one of the free agent reliever options.

Betances is recovering from a year of horrific injuries. He was initially diagnosed with a bone spur behind his shoulder, which caused him to be placed on the injured list until the middle of September. During his first and only appearance for the Yankees in 2019, he partially tore his achilles tendon and thus missed the rest of the season.

Before the 2019 season, Betances was considered to be one of the premier relievers in the MLB, having been named to the All-Star team four times. He's a product of the Yankees farm system, and actually attended numerous Yankees games when he was younger, including David Wells' 1998 perfect game.
Now, if the Mets give him an offer he likes, Betances may be trading his pinstripes in for the NYM blue and orange.
