The whole NBA world skidded to a halt this week when it was revealed that both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz tested positive for coronavirus. The league quickly suspended the 2019-20 season, and teams quickly began testing players, staff, and even local media members in an effort to maintain the epidemic.

Notably, Mitchell's father, Donovan Sr., was noted as a possible COVID-19 risk. As a player relations director for the New York Mets organization, measures needed to be taken to ensure that he wasn't at risk and in a position to place others at risk. And fortuntely, his results came back negative.

Time to breathe a sigh of relief, folks.

"When news surfaced (Wednesday) night of the situation involving the Utah Jazz, we immediately contacted Donovan Mitchell Sr. to advise him to not report at our facility this morning," the Mets said in an official statement Thursday.

Their abundance of caution was completely justified, and we can all be happy to know that Donovan Sr. has a clean bill of health. Now, we can direct all our positive vibes back to Donovan Jr. as he deals with his unfortunate setback.
