Mets Eliminate Tim Bogar in Managerial Search and Have Likely Settled on Next Hire
By Jerry Trotta

Lost in the madness of the World Series is the fact that the New York Mets are still conducting interviews for their current managerial vacancy.
Of course, the Wilpon's and Brodie Van Wagenen laughably concluded that they required three rounds of interviews to come to their decision, all while letting Joe Girardi, the hottest name on the market who reportedly wanted to manage the Mets, sign with the NL East rival Phillies.
Well, the witch-hunt might soon be drawing to a close as Andy Martino of SNY understands that the Amazins have eliminated Tim Bogar as a candidate and have likely settled on their next appointment, whose name, however, was not disclosed.
Elimination of Tim Bogar, who was getting a serious consideration (per @Joelsherman1), tells me Mets have likely identified their choice for next manager after the Fred Wilpon meetings this week

Bogar, the Washington Nationals' first base coach, was previously listed as one of the four favorites to land the job, but the Mets opted to not bring him in for a third interview.
Based on earlier reports, Bogar's demotion should leave Eduardo Perez, Carlos Beltran, and Derek Shelton as the three remaining candidates.

It's anyones best guess as to who the Wilpon's and Van Wagenen will go with, but we don't doubt for a second that their decision will be scrutinized by the majority of flans in Flushing who were clamoring for Girardi the second it was announced Mickey Callaway wouldn't be returning for a third season.
In the meantime, stay tuned for what is likely to be a bombshell of a revelation because the Metsies think they've found their man.
