Mets Fans Make Their Voices Heard With 'Fire Mickey' Chants at Citi Field
By Will Fowler

Baseball season for Mets fans must feel a lot like the movie Groundhog Day.
Stuck in a continuous loop of injuries, underperforming players and poor coaching, Mets fans have found brand new ways to lose faith in their team, despite never thinking it could get any worse.
This year seems to be a more vicious loop, though -- after trading for elite closer Edwin Diaz, it gave the fans a false sense of bullpen confidence. Now, after having blown countless leads in the eighth and ninth innings, the fans are making sure their voices are heard.
"Fire Mickey!" is the chant here at Citi Field

Harsh? Yes. Surprised? No. Mickey Callaway has been the center of the Mets' issues, whether it be by making questionable bullpen decisions, giving cookie cutter answers in the middle of lengthy losing spells, or even blowing up on a reporter who told him to "have a good day". The second-year manager has done far more harm than good in his time with the Mets, and the fans are finally done with it.
Mickey Callaway told one of the beat reporters they won’t use Edwin Díaz for five outs “just because you think so.”

This is a manager that doesn’t adjust and talks to reporters like they know absolutely nothing.
Let's hope the Met front office hears the fans' plea for help. That fan base deserves better than what they're getting from the Wilpons and Brodie Van Wagenen.
