Mets Release Lineups for Split-Squad Spring Training Openers Against Marlins and Cardinals
By Adam Weinrib
Mets fans get to celebrate the first official day of Spring Training games in unique fashion, with not one, but two games!
A faction of Mets will be staying home at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, while another crew will be traveling to Palm Beach to face off with the Cardinals. Here's how things shake out.
The lineup in the home game, behind Rick Porcello, is stunningly competent, featuring Jeff McNeil, Pete Alonso, and Michael Conforto in the top three spots.
Marcus Stroman heads on the road to start for the Mets' traveling edition, backed by Amed Rosario, Brandon Nimmo, who'd smile no matter how far he'd have to travel, and JD Davis.
The Mets have high expectations attached to their shoulders for 2020, with a lineup that runs the count with pop one-through-nine, and a star-studded rotation. The journey starts in earnest on Saturday (twice!), so tune in.
