Mets OF Keon Broxton DFA'd Day After Complaining About Playing Time
By Parker White

The New York Mets decided to shake up their outfield mix and designated outfielder Keon Broxton for assignment.

It's a bit shocking since outfielder Michael Conforto was just diagnosed with a concussion after a nasty collision and it's not the ideal time to get rid of an outfielder. However, they did just call up veteran Carlos Gomez. Combined with Broxton's complaint about a lack of playing time, this makes more sense.
Keon Broxton says he's surprised that he hasn't received more playing time, and goes on to say that he feels pressured because he hasn't had enough plate appearances:

He's not wrong and you can understand his frustration, but teams don't like to hear that so they just cut him loose.
The 29-year-old is known for his defensive play and possesses sneaky power, as he belted 20 homers for the Milwaukee Brewers a couple years ago. However, Broxton's time in Queens has not gone well, as he's slashing .143/.208/.163 with one double and two RBI over 34 games (53 plate appearances).
