VIDEO: Pete Alonso Crashed a High School Math Class on Zoom Because Why the Heck Not

Zoom has become the go-to method for students and teachers to communicate now that learning is taking place remotely from home. One high school math teacher, Gregory Berry, decided to take distance learning to new heights: He got New York Mets star Pete Alonso on his class' call to deliver a message to his students.
Called in some reinforcements for our Cyclic Quadrilateral lesson! Thank you @Pete_Alonso20 for the intro! Clearly, I am missing @NYMBaseball @SportsCenter #remotelearning #peoplehelpingpeople pic.twitter.com/0suDNXWjnm

It doesn't take long for Alonso to jokingly admit he knows nothing about the geometry lesson, but to be fair, he does know a thing or two about launch angles.
Mr. Berry ends the video making it clear that you will indeed need math even if you don't grow up to be an engineer. Alonso was not much help when it came to cyclic quadrilaterals, but the students now have an awesome story to tell about the time the Polar Bear spoke to their class.

Professional athletes need something to do in order to keep busy, and talking to a geometry class is one way to pass the time and make students' day.
The Mets star summed it all up perfectly with the simple message: "Quite frankly, this virus sucks."
