Mets Place Robinson Cano and Jeff McNeil on Injured List

Unfortunately for Mets fans, the 2019 campaign has been filled with disappointment once again. Similar to last year, a hot start has quickly been forgotten and this team looks destined for another season without the playoffs.
To make matters worse, the players are also having difficulty staying healthy. On Thursday, Robinson Cano and Jeff McNeil became the latest to hit the injured list.

For Cano specifically, maybe some time away from the clubhouse and stadium will do him some good. The slugger has been under heavy scrutiny of late for not hustling. Now, he's dealing with a quad strain. In his first season in Queens, Cano is hitting .241, with 3 home runs and 13 RBI.
As for McNeil, the second baseman has performed much better, posting a .333 average to go along with two dingers and 15 RBI. He's hitting the 10-day IL due to a hamstring strain.

With the Mets sitting at 23-25 and in third place of the NL East standings, they'll hope these two can get back to the lineup ASAP. They sure need them if the team is planning to turn the season around.
