The New York Mets pulled off the first true blockbuster of the MLB trade deadline, acquiring Marcus Stroman in exchange for Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods-Richardson.

Well, don't expect Brodie Van Wagenen and Co. to call it a day just yet, as they're still looking to make a few more deals. And according to Bob Klapisch of the New York Times, the Mets' next move is to ship off Noah Syndergaard.

While most eyes were on Zack Wheeler last week, it seems the Mets may be more inclined to trade Syndergaard after acquiring Stroman.

It would be a rather confusing move for the Mets, but at this point, would it surprise anyone?

The only way this deal makes sense for New York is if they believe they'll get a big haul of prospects for Syndergaard, including some ready to step into the fold in 2020 and help them compete next year.

There are multiple teams vying to land Syndergaard, as he has ace upside and would provide a contending team with an impeccably talented arm. While he hasn't had the greatest season, perhaps a change of scenery would benefit the 26-year-old.
