Mets Reportedly Scouting Braves Top Minor Leaguers as Trade Deadline Looms
By Brendan Azoff

Could the Mets be plotting a trade deadline move with their N.L. East rival Atlanta Braves? In the midst of the busiest week in baseball, the Mets have sent head scout Omar Minaya to watch the Mississippi Braves play on Thursday night.

With New York listening to offers on three of their top pitching arms, it makes sense that they will do their due diligence on potential trade partner's prospect stock. The Mississippi Braves house two of the Braves top three prospects according to MLB.com, in Ian Anderson and Christian Pache.
Pache is the Braves top prospect and an outfielder, while Thursday's starter Ian Anderson is the Braves third-ranked prospect. The fact that Minaya is at this game shows exactly what the Mets are going to be asking for in a potential trade with Atlanta.

That’s two of Brodie’s top execs. This .. could be something. #Mets
The Braves have a deep prospect pool and could pull off a trade for one of New York's top right-handers, and it appears they will have to part with one of their top prospects to do so.
