Mets Reportedly Sign Free Agent Pitcher Brad Brach

Brad Brach began the 2019 season with the Chicago Cubs before being released in August.
He was then picked up by the New York Mets, and showed enough to reportedly earn a new deal for 2020.
Free-agent RHP Brad Brach signs with #Mets, one year, $850K with a player option for $1.25M in 2021, sources tell The Athletic. Brach still owed $500K by #Cubs for 2020, so actually will earn total of $1.35M next season.

The reliever has been around since 2011 and looked lost with the Cubs last season. His 6.13 ERA added to the bullpen troubles and caused him to be released even though he was owed money.
The Mets have re-signed Brad Brach, per @Ken_Rosenthal. Maybe Carlos Beltrán, the team’s new manager, will know how to actually use him properly.

Brach recovered in New York, posting a 3.68 ERA in 16 games. That was good enough for a positive WAR and a new contract.
The Mets are entering a new era with Carlos Beltran as the manager and an ownership change slowly taking place. This contract for Brach is pocket change for this team and can be considered a nice get in a busy free agent market. Waiting another day could have meant the Mets missed out on a guy they gave a second chance to in 2019.
