Mets Reportedly Signing Dellin Betances Away From Yankees

Dellin Betances has been on the New York Yankees since 2011. An injury-plagued 2019 saw him appear in only one game and his future in New York became unclear.
And now his time with the team has come to an end. While he's not leaving New York, Betances is reportedly signing a deal with the New York Mets, according to reports.

It's a one-year deal, which indicates he's trying to rebuild his value after a lost season.
Right-handed reliever Dellin Betances and the New York Mets are in agreement on a one-year deal, sources tell ESPN. The deal includes two player options.

This is a huge signing for the Mets. Adding Betances to a bullpen that collapsed so many times last year could be a big step in stabilizing this unit. The right-hander is a four-time All-Star with a career 2.36 ERA and is capable of closing or being a setup man.
From 2014-2018 Dellin Betances had a 2.22 ERA which is the lowest among all AL pitchers min. 300 IP https://t.co/drbSPxFjUQ

He's had at least 100 strikeouts in every season from 2014-2018 and is one of the best relievers in baseball when healthy.
Assuming his rehab from a partially-torn Achilles continues to go well, we could see him help turn the Mets bullpen around in 2020.
