Mets Lineup

First baseman Pete Alonso continues to make a strong case for the MLB All-Star Game, and this laser home run sure didn't hurt his bid. Alonso hits second today for the Mets slugging .619 with 25 home runs and 59 RBI for the season. On the mound for New York is Zack Wheeler, who owns a 5-5 record and 4.94 ERA in 15 starts this season.

Cubs Lineup

Addison Russell looked to be the difference in Friday night's game when he hit a go ahead home run in the fifth inning, but it wasn't meant to be as the Mets came back to even the series. He's in the lineup again today, hitting behind starting pitcher Jose Quintana. The 30-year-old lefty has a 4-6 record on the season, but his 3.87 ERA shows he's been a bit more effective this year than his record shows.

The Mets have struggled all season and their record shows it. They're eight games back in the NL East with a 36-40 record. The Cubs continue to pace the NL Central with a 41-34 record and 1.5-game lead over the Brewers in the division.
