Mets Lineup

The Mets are coming in with strong odds considering that they haven't lost a series in San Francisco since 2014. But with Zach Wheeler on the injured list due to shoulder fatigue, it looks like Noah Syndergaard will start on the mound. Syndergaard has recorded a 7-4 record despite a 4.55 ERA this season. But it seems like either pitcher could be out with a trade before the July 31 deadline.

Pete Alonso will be one to watch in this series, with 31 homers on the season and coming off of a strong Home Run Derby appearance and a bomb against Minnesota. Michael Conforto could also be a factorm with a homer and a .320 average over the last seven games.

Giants Lineup

The Giants will also put a soon-to-be traded pitcher on the mound for game one. Madison Bumgarner will make the start with a 5-7 record and a 3.86 ERA on the season. Bumgarner has been on a hot streak lately though, pitching to a 1.80 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP with 28 strikeouts over his last four starts. He should definitely cause some problems at the plate for New York.

But the heat doesn't stop at the mound for the Giants. They have scored the most runs, hit the most home runs, and posted the highest batting average of any team in the month of July. San Francisco is expecting big things from Brandon Crawford who has recorded four homers and a .400 AVG in his last seven games. These hot streaks may not be sustainable, but they will definitely play into the outcome of Thursday night's game.
