Miami Herald Reporter Reveals Sunday's Dolphins Preview Features Awkward Laremy Tunsil Cover
By Sean Facey
Laremy Tunsil's status was up in the air pretty much all week. Reports surfaced that the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins had come close to a deal that would send him to Houston in exchange for Jadeveon Clowney, but nothing ever came out of it. Ultimately, Clowney was dealt to Seattle, and all seemed calm for the Dolphins.
So calm, in fact, that Miami Herald reporter Adam Beasley felt comfortable admitting that Tunsil was part of the massive cover photo for the paper's season preview.
Of course, the only problem with that is that...Laremy Tunsil ended up getting traded to the Texans anyway. No exhales in this business!
Yeah, that's gonna be awkward. As it turns out, they really do have a "Dewey Defeats Truman situation" on their hands.
In fairness, though, the move came as a major shock to practically the entire football world. Bill O'Brien and the Texans had already spent the early part of the day wheeling and dealing, so by Saturday afternoon, it seemed as though they had their roster in place and were set for the season.
Then they shipped an ungodly package of picks and players to Miami in exchange for Tunsil's services, and those of Kenny Stills as well.
The folks at the Miami Herald were definitely not the only ones to be caught off-guard by the deal, but they're the ones who are going to have to live with the shame of having the centerpiece of it plastered across the sports section in the wrong uniform, and for the wrong reasons.
