Miami of Ohio Postpones Basketball Games Due to Coronavirus Threat

The announcement of a new and dangerous virus can one of the more nerve-racking experiences we go through as a society. When that strain becomes fatal like the coronavirus without any clear indication that all possible measures are being taken to contain its spread to other parts of the world, paranoia runs the risk of setting in.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Miami University is taking every precaution necessary while awaiting coronavirus test results of two students who recently returned from China. One of those precautions? Postponing two upcoming RedHawks basketball games until those test results come back.

The school took the precautious route of postponing Tuesday's NCAA men's game against Central Michigan, as well as Wednesday's women's basketball game against Western Michigan. While health officials reiterated that the risk to the Oxford, Ohio university's campus is low, and that the two students in question are currently isolation.
The anxiety created by the little-understood virus is understandable, however.

Hopefully, these imminent test results come back negative and the student body at Miami U can go back to business as usual.
