Patriots defensive end Michael Bennett made headlines yet again on Monday after taking a swing at offensive tackle Dan Skipper during training camp.

Bennett was reportedly disgruntled with Skipper after he was held during a drill in which he needed to get past the offensive linemen to tackle the running back, according to Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal. Skipper responded to Bennett's antics with the double birds.

While Bennett was considered by many to be one of the best defensive players in the league during his days with the Seattle Seahawks, the Super Bowl XLVIII champion has made headlines for different reasons in the recent past.

Bennett was one of the first to kneel alongside Colin Kaepernick to protest racial injustice, and was in the news a few years ago after claiming he was the victim of excessive force used by a police officer in Las Vegas.

While a little friendly competition during NFL training camp should be encouraged, fighting between players is destructive behavior. Skipper committing a hold during a drill doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary, and Bennett overreacted.

Most of the Patriots' short list of issues have been off the field under Belichick's reign as head coach, and we expect this one to subside quickly.
