Michael Irvin's Son Transfers From Miami to FAU

After following in his father's footsteps in Miami, Michael Irvin Jr. is charting his own path by taking his talents to Boca Raton.
As reported by Brett McMurphy, Irvin's son, a redshirt senior at the University of Miami, has officially transferred to Florida Atlantic University.
A 3-star prospect, Irvin II headed to Miami hoping to make a name for himself in football. However, his opportunities have been limited, with just 11 receptions over his three-year career. He was also projected to be a third-string tight end this season. With that, a transfer seemed possible, and Irvin II will remain in state to play with FAU instead.
Despite being a young program, FAU has already begun building an identity in the NCAA Football landscape. The arrival of former Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin in 2017 and the move to Conference USA brought significant attention to the program.
During his time in Florida, Kiffin rattled off a pair of 11-3 seasons, division titles and bowl victories. Kiffin moved on to Ole Miss, but Willie Taggart came in to fill the shoes at FAU. Taggart has attracted many high profile transfers thus far, and Irvin II only adds to the cause.
While Michael Irvin was a standout star in Miami, the same was not true for his son. Now, Irvin II will have the chance to build a name for himself with a program that is trying to do the same in FAU.
