VIDEO: Ohio State Highlight Tape of Michael Thomas Will Make You Laugh About How He Was a 2nd-Round Pick
By Andrew Gullotta

There's a reason Saints star receiver Michael Thomas' Twitter handle is @CantGuardMike, and it didn't start in the pros. Thomas has been taking corners to school since he was a stud at Ohio State, and all five teams that chose a wide receiver before the All-Pro went off the board in Round 2 of the 2016 NFL Draft should be kicking themselves. All you have to do is look at the tape.
Everyone knows you @Cantguardmike in the NFL, but you couldn't touch Michael Thomas when he was doing work for @OhioStateFB either. pic.twitter.com/NRjlNYM2HD

Thomas wasn't just capitalizing on slant routes here; he showcased the all-around skills that helped make him arguably the best wideout in th NFL.
The Buckeye national champion shows his diverse route tree and playmaking ability all over the field here. He made highlights in the short, medium, and long levels of the field. It is still head scratching that pass-catchers like Laquon Treadwell, Josh Doctson, and Corey Coleman were picked before this guy.
It seems like Thomas dropping well into the second round was a blessing in disguise, as he got to play with offensive geniuses Drew Brees and Sean Payton, which helped accelerate his progression immensely.
What happens to Michael Thomas' stats if you remove all passes caught on slants?

He still leads the league in receptions and yards.
What if you take away his top two routes? Three?
What if you do the same for the league's other top receivers? https://t.co/stdBekIM9n
Watching a video like this will get Saints fans excited for what Thomas and New Orleans has in store for 2020, but will also make other fans shake their head and think what could've been.
