VIDEO: Former Eagles QB Michael Vick Believes Carson Wentz Will Fail in Philadelphia
By Scott Rogust
Carson Wentz hasn't endeared himself to the Philadelphia Eagles fan base in recent weeks. This past Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, Wentz threw two interceptions, fumbled the ball three times, and was sacked three times. Making matters worse, the signal caller was recently given a $128 million contract by the team. With Wentz's popularity at an all-time low, is the clock ticking on his Philly career? During an appearance on FOX Sports' "Speak for Yourself," ex-Eagles quarterback Michael Vick expressed his belief that Wentz will fail in the City of Brotherly Love, due to the bar set by Nick Foles.
In 2017, Wentz was on the cusp of winning the NFL MVP, but tore numerous ligaments in his knee in the final month of the regular season. Foles entered in relief, and led the Eagles to their first-ever Super Bowl victory, with Wentz watching from the sidelines.
Wentz hasn't been the same since returning from the injury, and it's irritating Eagles fans. With Foles now a Jacksonville Jaguar, the former 2016 second-overall pick needs to step up his play, or the calls for his exit will only grow louder.
