His former teammate, Chris Baker, first tweeted the news early Monday morning and it has since been confirmed. However, at this time, details are scarce and it's unclear what happened.
Devastated to learn of the passing of my spartan brother Charles Rodgers. Spoke with his mom this morning. Please pray for her and his children. Please also be respectful of their privacy at this difficult time. Rip Chuck ?

The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft dominated during his two years in college, recording 135 receptions for 2,821 yards and 27 touchdowns (which was a school record). However, injury troubles and failed drug tests limited him to just 15 career NFL games, labeling him one of the biggest busts ever.
This news comes shortly after Spartans point guard Cassius Winston lost his brother on Saturday after the 19-year-old was struck by a train.
